Artemia OSI Crystal
Description
Brine shrimp eggs (Artemia franciscana cysts) are harversted from the Great Salt Lake. NaupLii hatched from these cysts provide one of nature’s finest nutritious foods for tiny shrimp and fish
Hatching Usage Suggestions
• Hatchery tanks: for small quantities, ideally, a clear glass or plastic bottle; for large quantities, a 10-55 gallon fiberglass tank
• Be sure to use clean sea water or artificial salt water. Optimal specific gravity is 1.01 to 1.02
• The optimal pH is 7.5-8.5. Add an alkaline solution (soda ash, sodium sulfate, etc.) to adjust the pH
• Be sure there is enough air to keep all the eggs circulating at all times
• The optimum hatching time is after 20-36 hours
• To harvest: remove air hose and wait fifteen minutes. Using a plastic tube, siphon the nauplii from the bottom into a fine mesh net
• Store cysts in a cool, dry area to keep them fresh and alive
Notes
• Store in cool dry place, away from sunlight
• After opened, avoid humidity
